Conversations all over social media and even at home make it easy to feel overwhelmed. Boys Town reminds us all that mental wellness is key, especially during change and tension.

“Periods like this can really heighten mental health concerns, especially for teens and young adults,” said Nick Zadina, manager of Boys Town National Hotline. “Feeling stressed or anxious is totally normal, and we want everyone to know that Boys Town is a safe space for finding resources, support, and a place to vent.”

5 Tips to Keep Your Mind Strong Post-Election:

1. Create space to talk 

It’s okay to feel mixed emotions. Try talking openly with family or friends about how you feel; getting it out in the open can make a big difference.

2. Keep it chill on social media 

Social media can be overwhelming, so try to stay respectful and kind during political discussions. Taking breaks from social media is also a great way to avoid added stress.

3. Set boundaries with news 

Sometimes, endless news updates can do more harm than good. Consider limiting your time on news apps or social platforms to keep stress levels in check.

4. Practice some self-care

Relax with deep breathing exercises, a favorite hobby, or just step outside for fresh air.
