Don't Stay Silent! Check on Your People

Don't Stay Silent! Check on Your People

Hey everyone,

It's been a rough week. I recently attended the funeral of a friend who died by suicide, and it was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. It got me thinking about how many people are silently suffering from depression, anxiety, and other mental health issues.

That's why I created "Check on your people," a suicide prevention and mental health awareness campaign for teens. The idea is simple: we all need to look out for one another, especially in times of need.

I created these colorful posters that you can download and share with your friends and family. Each poster has a QR code that directs you to my website, Hiya, where we provide a list of mental health resources for people who need someone to talk to or are looking for an on-call therapist or need to be directed to the emergency suicide prevention hotline.

The posters are a way to remind people that they're not alone, and that there is help out there for those who need it. It's a small step, but it can make a big difference.

If you're struggling with mental health issues, know that there is help available. You don't have to go through it alone. Reach out to someone you trust, whether it's a friend, family member, or mental health professional. There are people who care about you and want to help.

Let's all commit to checking on our people, and creating a community of support and care for one another. Together, we can make a difference.

You can download the posters by clicking here and join the conversation on social media using the hashtag #checkonyourpeople.

Take care,

Alejandra
