Omaha’s Own Alejandra Wells to Inspire at Upcoming Mental Health Webinar

We are thrilled to announce that our very own Hiya founder, Alejandra Wells, will be the special guest at this month’s Ask the Experts event, hosted by the International Children's Advisory Network (iCAN).

The Ask the Experts webinar series, conceptualized by iCAN President Leanne West of Georgia Tech's, is a unique platform that fosters direct interaction between youth and professionals in healthcare. West is Chief Engineer of Pediatric Technologies at the Georgia Institute of Technology and Pediatric Innovation Catalyst at the Global Center for Medical Innovation where she leads innovation in pediatric medical devices.

The "Ask the Experts" series is designed to create an intimate environment where participants can engage in fireside-chat style discussions, with a strong emphasis on youth-driven questions. While participants of all ages are welcome, the series prioritizes questions from younger attendees when time is limited.

This upcoming session featuring Alejandra Wells promises to be an inspiring event, offering participants the chance to hear directly from a young leader who is making significant strides in the fields of mental health advocacy and mentoring.

Alejandra's story is one of resilience, passion, and a deep commitment to helping others. After overcoming her own mental health challenges, Alejandra channeled her experiences into creating Hiya, a brand that not only sells beautiful, handmade bracelets but also spreads a powerful message about the importance of mental health. Through Hiya, Alejandra has been able to connect with teens across the country, offering them both support and a symbol of hope through her work.

But Alejandra’s impact goes beyond Hiya. She is a valued member of the KIDS Nebraska advisory group at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Children’s Hospital and Medical Center, where she contributes her insights on issues affecting young people. Her dedication to mentoring and advocacy has also earned her the prestigious title of Mentor Nebraska's Young Leader of the Year, underscoring her influence and the respect she commands as a young leader.
